Online art thieves are part of the internet community which is sad and outrageous, and as an artist myself im not impressed. I am very glad there were some sweet followers stood up for me when my work has not been credited on tumblr RPs, thank you so much, love you all :> Although it happened to me sometimes the RP-er simply took down the post without any apologies after I have kindly asked for crediting (which is not useful at all on tumblr, if you know what i mean). Well I won't say these people deserve punishments, however there is obviously better solutions. It is VERY disrespectful to the artist, yet PEOPLE ARE STILL DOING IT.

Recently :icongui0823: got her work specially commished for (E) on pixiv has been stolen by user :icon
secret-Korea: (account already deactivated) while she has never posted the full size finished piece anywhere on the internet except a cropped version on plurk and twitter. Hmmm sounds shady huh.

Anyhow by reading Secret-Korea's apology it seems he/she didn't understand where the problem lies, what he/she has done is not just reposting work without any consent, but pretending to be the original artist and ripped off all the effort from GUI. Not to be mentioned how he/she insolently described the work to be "didn't took me half a day" and "roughly drawn", and how (E) requested for deleting GUI's related tweets, using offers in order to settle it down........horrendous and seriously worrying!

The community had enough of imposters, telling artists to protect their intellectual properties by all means is like putting a cart before a horse. These behaviours are banishing artists from the internet :( gain your own supporters by making your own effort! It will be much happier and heartening!!!

peace out,
Shiza x

Oh wow I watched this person for quite some time. I really enjoyed her magi fanart but I had no idea it was stolen! This explains them deactivating their account without notice. I really hate when people steal art. What good is it than to get some comments that are just hollow because they're commenting on wrk and effort that isn't even yours? I have no tolerance for art theft at all, I hate it.
